Year-end Fund Drive Goal Exceeded
Posted on Jan 5, 2017, by Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass
We don’t often like to use the word “smash” to describe happenings at the glass museum, but we will. Thanks to an amazing group of year-end fund drive donors, we smashed our fundraising goal. The museum staff was challenged by Gary and Marge McClanahan to raise $25,000 by the end of 2016. If we met their $25,000 challenge, then they would match it dollar for dollar. As of January 1, the goal was exceeded.
Contributions to the year-end fund drive are directed to programming. Recent programming that has benefitted from your generosity includes bringing in exhibiting artists, like Jeffrey Stenbom, to hold glass casting workshops for our military veterans and community; enriching at risk and special needs students from Shattuck Middle School with glass making activities; and exhibiting the works world-renowned artists such as Lino Tagliapietra, William Morris, and Paul Stankard.
Since the opening of the museum in April of 1959, the success and growth of the organization has been because of generous people like you. Thank you to all who support the museum though donations, gifts of objects, volunteering and membership…and now we dance.
