It’s YOUR Museum!
“Flexible pivots” has been our mantra over the past year as we find nimble ways to continue to serve our community in pandemic times. We have moved much to the virtual world, found ways to remain safely open, and most importantly continued to provide high-quality experiences regardless of global setbacks. I like to use the phrase, “It’s YOUR museum” because BMMOG has been serving the Fox Cities since 1959, an impressive 61 years now.
I am beyond humbled by the generosity of our community through the tremendous success of our fall fund drive. We exceeded our fundraising goal of $58,000 by well over 30%. I am deeply indebted and thankful to our community angels Lynn and Roger Van Vreede whose gift match was a major spark to encourage many others to support the museum. It takes a creative village to uplift a museum and BMMOG has benefited greatly from the community’s philanthropic spirit and I thank you.
We couldn’t thrive without the support of our dedicated Board of Directors and this past month we welcomed these new members; Kathleen Brost, Jon Clark, Prem Mansukhani, Fred Schwertfeger, Kathryn Driefuerst, and reappointed members, Rick Conne, and Walter Koskinen. Our successes are earned in great part to your support and advocacy of YOUR museum!
This winter brings new innovations and exhibitions to BMMOG. From a special exhibition curated by our docent corps, some of whom have been with us for 30 years, to a full season of unique classes developed by The Glass Studio. Stay tuned this spring for our much-anticipated annual high school art exhibit highlighting talented students working in glass-based media, new virtual art activity days; as well as, new special glass items in our Museum shop.
Come make a trip to YOUR museum soon, we are here for you.
See you in the galleries!
